House-smoked BBQ ribs
Dinghy’s has been famous for its in-house smoked ribs for over 25 years, and this is the most popular item on our menu. First dusted with our own dry rub, then smoked in our smoker, then finished on the char-grill and sauced with our secret recipe BBQ sauce. We now also offer our homemade dry rubbed finish. Visitors from regions well known for their BBQ ribs – like Texas and Mississippi – have told us that our ribs are as good as any they have had back home. Our ribs have been voted #1 in various readers’ polls. Served with choice of potato, coleslaw and homemade cornbread, which is another customer favorite.
Friday Fish Fry
A Dinghy’s tradition, you need to come early to avoid the lines. The fish basket includes several fillets of perch, or cod fingers, or a mix of both. Served with homemade tartar sauce, your choice of potato, coleslaw and a baguette.
Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich
We smoke pork cushion meat in our in-house smoker, then hand pull to ensure quality and consistency, then sauce with our secret recipe BBQ sauce. Served on a bun with a slice of white onion on the side. This is the #1 customer favorite sandwich.
Sandwich of Your Dreams
If you had to come up with your favorite sandwich, this is what you’d dream up. Turkey breast sautéed with onions and mushrooms and topped with provolone then garnished with shredded lettuce, diced tomato and sliced banana peppers, then dressed with mayo and served on a toasted roll. A real taste treat!
Frustrated with the poor quality of the standard breaded pre-cooked chicken wing out of a box, we experimented a few years ago with smoking raw chicken wings in our own smoker. Although a much more elaborate process, the result has been well received by our customers. Just before serving, we deep fry the smoked wings to give it a bit of crispy, and then serve with three different sauces: honey chipotle, Frank’s hot sauce, or Dinghy’s secret recipe BBQ sauce. Or, served “au natural”. This has become a real crowd favorite.
Dinghy’s is known for the quality menu items that come from our in-house smoker. In addition to our ribs, pulled pork and chicken wings, we also smoke chicken halves, giant turkey legs, and shaved tri-tip sirloin – which is served in a stack as an entrée or as a French Dip sandwich. During the summer months when our seasonal visitors come back to dine with us, our kitchen is staffed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week – just to keep up with the smoker.
